Today we will be looking into a community response to a limitation present in Classic: the lack of a character API. This limitation, which was already present back in Vanilla, prevents many tools that work for modern WoW to work for Classic, including the WoW Armory and tools like RealmPop. In order to fill the void created by the lack of the latter, members of the Classic community have developed a website to build an approximation of the realm population: WoW Classic Realm Population.
