The statistics for the COVID-19 pandemic are startling. In the US alone, more than 100,000 people are currently hospitalized due to the virus. This is almost twice as many as during the worst days in April and July. Hospitals around the country are running out of staff. In "normal" times, an ICU nurse would be assigned two critically ill patients at most but currently some are caring for as many at eight at a time. One can only imagine the stress that these carers are dealing with.
