Best Buy: $210 for 1TB Xbox One w/trade of 250gb Xbox or PS3 (YMMV)

So I will post some pictures when home later, but I wanted to share a deal I swung yesterday in hopes that some of you may pull it off too.

 

This deal consists of trading in a 250gb Xbox 360 or PS3 and using two coupons.

 

Right now, Best Buy is running a promotion where you can trade in your system and get a $75 gift card and a voucher for $75 off an Xbox One. ("Ya guy. . .we know that.")

 

The deal comes in play with an overlooked coupon we received from Best Buy around August 18 to take 10% of a single item. I have attached a picture (removing only my personal info and reward number) to help you find it in your email junkbox:

 

The important part to note is that this coupon is not like the ordinary movers coupon. It does not state that it cannot be used with another coupon. Similarly, the coupon you receive for the trade in also fails to state that it cannot be used with any other coupon. It says "no other promotion."

I brought into Best Buy a copy of a movers coupon to show them that there is a difference in their exclusionary language. Because of this difference, they should be able to use both. I said: "The $75 one is a voucher because I gave you a piece of my property. The other is a coupon. Either way, there is nothing in the exclusion that states that these cannot be used together."

After getting a manager to come over, they agreed with me and did a manager override and marked down the Xbox to $360 ($400-10%) and then deducted the voucher to get it to $285 ($285-$75). After I gave them the gift card from the trade in, the sale price came to $210.

To make this deal even sweeter, I took advantage of the Game Stop 4 for $20 sale and traded in 16 titles. I spent $70 (bought gift cards at a discount outlet) to get $126 of Best Buy credit.

 

In the end, I traded an Xbox 360 and $154 to get a brand new 1TB Xbox One. Pretty sweet deal.
